House Starshine / Builder’s Nightcap / 25 September 2026
The Lantern
is live.
Complete · ready for playtest
A cosy coaching inn, a room full of voices, the occasional ill-advised punch, and a bard who finally brought his lute.
A proper place to stay
Come for supper.
Stay for the stories.
The common room has a compact, furnished coaching-inn layout with clear routes. The approved upstairs guest chambers stay familiar. Hosts speak their supper and room menus; travellers now have voices of their own.
Life between the lines
The regulars have range.
Main characters have 30 ambient lines each; travellers have eight, plus paired exchanges and reactions. Short adult traveller scuffles end in intervention and calm. The children keep their existing play and voices.
Bard Box · no coins stuck in the mechanism
Ten tunes. One real lute.
Ask Iven for a traditional tune. He introduces it, takes the stage and plays his equipped lute. The room shares a bounded request queue; music yields to a scuffle and returns when things settle. His normal appearance and equipment return afterward.
The native equip-and-restore checks passed. Final animation fit and the in-game sound mix remain part of your playtest.
The release receipt
84 native checks passed.
Traveller scenes, Bard Box and nearby NPC care passed focused checks in a private test server. One backup was copied through TrueNAS to independent AI-Core storage and verified against production checksums. Publication preserved player state.

A little help nearby
Care that notices.
Registered healers and children can approach and cure nearby injured friendly people, while respecting busy routines. The player dying/recovery handler is also installed.
The real player negative-HP path has code checks, but was not exercised by the NPC fixture. It remains an explicit playtest item.
A short visit
Your table is ready.
Walk into the Lantern from Mercy Square, browse supper or rooms, listen to the travellers and ask Iven for a tune. Stay a little while for the social routines; scuffles are occasional, not a timer promise.
The inn has standards. Some of its customers are still negotiating theirs.
Published delivery is complete. Client visuals, menu feel, animation and the full audio mix are ready for your feedback.
Next active task · not published
Mercy Square V2
The next focus is one coherent outdoor square: a refreshed composition, appropriate outdoor seating and a cleanup of accumulated clutter. This is the active follow-on task; this page does not claim that redesign is built or deployed.

This edition records the final pre-release work. Its then-pending checks are historical; the completed Lantern status above is current for this milestone.
