HOUSE STARSHINE / VOICE WORKSHOP / 24 SEPTEMBER 2026

Voices of Mercy Square

Pell, Ves, Bramm and Sera are approved. Ilyra’s voice also fits; her existing take now plays slightly slower, as requested. Her pitch is preserved. All other recordings are unchanged.

Five familiar faces find their voices. F's old-world English delivery sets the direction: warmth, clear words and a little dry humour. Each resident is directed with a different register, rhythm and character.

The names and roles come from the current recorded game module. These are new audition lines shaped by their existing conversations.

Hear the foundation — Steward F

The preferred old-world crier

F provides the style direction. The five residents below have individually designed voices.

ROADWARD HEALER

Ilyra Dawnmere

Voice approved — pacing adjusted

Easy, reassuring conversation — slightly slower

Come and sit down. Let's have a look at that hand. Oh, that's sore, isn't it? Hold still a moment. There, that's better. You don't have to prove how brave you are to me. Just try not to undo my work before supper.

TOWN WATCH

Gateward Pell

Approved by Joel — take retained

Retake 2 — relaxed watchman, understated humour

Evening. First time in Mercy Square? You'll want the Open Lantern if you're after supper. Mind the porter there. He's had a long day, and that cart's got a wheel that argues with him. Keep your blade put away and you'll get on just fine.

QUARTERMASTER

Sera Vale

Approved by Joel — original take retained

Firm female contralto, precise and dryly amused

Arrived in one piece? Good. That puts you ahead of my grain wagon. If you have news from the north road, I shall hear it. Facts first, accusations later. A missing sack is troublesome enough without everyone adding a missing brain to the account.

SMITH

Bramm Flintward

Approved by Joel — original take retained

Deep, rough-edged bass with patient craftsman's pride

A sword is a tool. So is a hinge. I charge more when folk pretend the first is magic. Bring me honest iron and tell me what work it must do. A fine edge is useful. Knowing which end to hold is better.

ROAD TRADER

Ves Underbough

Approved by Joel — original take retained

Bright, nimble tenor with a seasoned traveller's wit

Rope, lamps, blankets. Adventures grow shorter when you forget one of those. A brave heart will carry you a long way, friend, but it makes a poor blanket. Take something dry, leave room for supper, and come back with a tale worth the listening.

Ready for your ears

Ilyra now runs at94% of the original tempo: a small,6% slowdown of the same take. You can compare the original pace below her player. The four other approved recordings are preserved. Formats, levels and automatic transcripts are checked; accent and acting are listening judgements.
